This holiday season, The Kids’ Table was honored to sponsor a community tree in Old Church Square in downtown Northville.
Our tree represented more than festive décor — it became a symbol of generosity, connection, and shared hope.
Community members were invited to participate by making a small donation in exchange for a custom ornament. Donors could personalize their ornament with a special message — a family name, a tribute, a word of hope, or a holiday wish. Each ornament was then proudly displayed on the tree, helping decorate Old Church Square throughout the holiday season and creating a meaningful visual reminder of the strength of our community.
We are deeply grateful to Adorn Fine Flowers for generously gifting the beautiful tree that served as the centerpiece of this project. Their support helped bring warmth and beauty to the square during the holidays. We also extend heartfelt thanks to Margene Buckhave at Stamppeddler for offering space for the tree and providing a warm, welcoming place where volunteers and families could gather to create their ornaments. That time spent together — crafting, connecting, and celebrating — is what truly made this initiative special.
Additional support came from Northville Community Over Cars, who helped spread the word by promoting the invitation on their social media page. Their outreach encouraged even more community members to participate and made the project an even greater success.
Sponsoring a community tree reflects our mission to nourish not only bodies, but also community spirit. Just as we work year-round to ensure children and families have access to healthy food and essential resources, we also believe in creating opportunities that bring neighbors together. We are proud to be part of a downtown that supports one another so generously. Thank you to everyone who donated, decorated, shared, and celebrated with us.
